What a fantastic film. Excellent script, assured pacing and direction. The familiar story of a young dancer who gets a chance at greatness, falls in love with her young composer, and must choose between her love for him and her love for her art. Moira Shearer is stunning and fabulous as the talented Vicky Page, and Anton Walbrook is dead-on as the pompous ballet director who wants too much.
