ME AND YOU AND EVERYONE WE KNOW
This debut film by artist Miranda July won lots of awards in 2005, including Cannes and Sundance. Beats me why. It’s a pretentious art piece, filled with unrealistic characters and the unrealistic things they say. Felt like a film school attempt. None of it feels honest or genuine (not to say it’s intentionally being deceptive). It’s one of those films that fits that “indie” stereotype, where people see it, don’t get it, and think it’s their fault, not the film’s.
